This summer at GSLC Pr. Marsha and Pr. Tim will be utilizing a few resources to craft three sermon series. With Ordinary Time, and the corresponding color green, being focused on spiritual growth (hence the green-for-growing-things motif), it is an opportunity to experiment, to dream, and to present just a slightly different feeling, as summer itself holds a slightly different feeling.
This first series will utilize the book _Being Disciples: Essentials of the Christian Life_ by Rowan Williams, the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury. You’re welcome to order the book and read along with the series, though that is by no means necessary. The book will provide the scripture focus for each Sunday, as well as a springboard for the sermon. But it will not be a book study.
Repeat: Sunday will still be worship. The sermon will still be a sermon (proclamation of the Gospel). It will not be a book study (though we love book studies!).
Pr. Tim and Pr. Marsha do recommend the book, though. It is a short read that is accessible while still being full of great food for spiritual thought.
Starting May 27th and going through July 1st, we’ll enter into a different space together for this first leg of the journey. We look forward to walking it with you.
See you in church!
